Chain Lariat
Ingredients
- 1m fine/medium chain - 7 headpins - 3/4mm jumprings - 2 main feature beads - 8-12 smaller feature beads - spacers/washers
Recipe
- Thread one of the main feature beads onto a headpin. Frame with washers/spacers/crystals/etc.
- Cut the headpin 1cm above the bead and make a lollipop loop using round nose pliers.
- Thread the second feature bead onto a headpin. Frame the bead and make a lollipop loop.
- Cut the heads off the remaining headpins.
- Make a lollipop loop on the end of one of the headpins.
- Thread on a small feature bead or a pattern of small feature beads.
- Cut the headpin 1cm away from the beads. Make a lollipop loop.
- Using your round nose and chain nose pliers, figure eight your loops. This makes the bead set stronger.
- Continue making bead sets until you have used all your headpins (7 bead sets).
- Using a jumpring, attach one of your main feature beads to one end of the chain.
- Cut the chain 2-3cm away from the feature bead. Using a jumpring attach another bead set to the chain.
- Jumpring the chain to the other end of the bead set.
- Cut the chain 4-5cm away from the bead set and jumpring on another bead set. This is one end of the lariat.
- Create the other end of the lariat is the same way. The ends of the lariat should be slightly different so vary the amount of chain between each bead set. This end will have 4 beads set on it.
- Jumpring the remaining chain to your bead sets to create the lariat.
- Drape around your neck and loosely knot at the front to wear.
